So I spent a good portion of Sunday cutting chunks of knots out of Jersey’s fur and decided that she will go to the groomer tomorrow. I was debating just having her shaved again but I think I’ll see what they can do with the knots first. I really need to just brush her everyday! When I let it go, even 2 days, she’s a mess!
So after math class last night I sat down with Jersey and brushed her. She really really hates to be brushed so doing this daily is becomming a good habbit this way she will get used to it. But her hair is SO fine and thin that even after I brushed her last night we jumped into bed and I was petting her and found a knot! Already, not even 2 hours after brushing her another knot! So again tonight I will sit and brush her back out. I know I was neglecting this since the day I bought her and I am finally getting on track with so many goals. Now I have to get out and walk her more! I need the exercise a lot more than she does but its great bonding and I love to watch her hop around when she gets excited and wants to play.
My dog’s hair grows VERY slowly for a miniature schnauzer so luckily I don’t have to rush to the groomer every month or two but I am slacking on daily brushings. She is still a puppy and has white hair to boot so her face is always dirty and she gets knotty. I haven’t been keeping up with brushing her and wiping her beard off after she eats or drinks so this is def going into a daily goal. She deserves to feel wonderful everyday and right now I am not giving that to her. I think the main reason I have shyed away from doign this is because she doesn’t sit still long enough but I need to put my foot down! Daily groomings will keep her coat tangle free and she won’t look so homeless!
She is getting groomed today and will return to looking like the beautiful dog she is. The picture is how they groom her and I can’t wait to see her later!
