Create An English Cottage Garden

For some reason, I’ve never really liked pansies very much. Perhaps its that they don’t get that big, or continue to grow once it gets really warm. But now I’ve decided that I need to plant some. Since here in Kentucky, the rule is that annuals should not be planted before Derby Day (which is the first Saturday in May), so it would be nice to have some color before that. Looks like I’ll be buying pansies tomorrow.

I don’t want to see dead leaves anymore. I want to see green grass, and flowers and leaves on the trees.

I think they must be daffodils. I wanted to plant some more bulbs in the fall, but since mom was in the hospital, I had no time. I can’t even remember what I still have planted from 2 years ago. I think I had some tulips, and maybe a few crocus. I love crocus! Mom always said that it was the first sign of spring!
