And, now? I know what it takes. I don’t eat out so much, I don’t spend money impulsively- and I’ve got $1100.00 for my trip to Central America in May, so far….

But, complacency snuck up on me and told me it was alright to spend it all.
Stupid me.
I had $600 saved, and I was going for much more, but now- now? I’m on a war path.
No more fucking about.
I’m tackling the debt and the savings all at the same time- and I’m putting away the MAX.
It’s going to work like this:
I make $400 net/month, and get paid $800 every paycheque, and $1600/mo.
Sooo…
$200 towards my Insurance (which is only $150, leaving extra money I don’t have to pay towards it in the long run).
I’m paying down $600 in debt
My living expenses are $400/mo.
And, I will therefore put $200/mo towrads savings- and $200 in extra unforseen expenses (to be saved, if nothing dire comes up).
This will allow me, at the end of 8 months- to erase all of my debt.
In 12 months, I will have saved (including tax return) at least: $6,500.00, possibly as much as $8000.00 (which will be used to purchase a more reliable car).
I will have paid my car insurance foward somewhere to the tune of $600.00
By the 8th month, we will have been deployed…and voila…we’ll have a house, Gian will have a stable income…and I can REAAALLLY work on saving, and work on my credit score.
Then- college, buying a home, coast guard- here we come.
