Switched goals:

From “knit a sweater” to “finish the sweater I’m knitting” because I’m trying to just have goals I can do in 2007.

I am excited and intimidated at the same time.

I just bought this Alpaca & Silk yarn to make The Somewhat Cowl—seven skeins of yarn, enough to make the sweater with a skein leftover, just in case.

I am so excited.

Okay, that is IT.

I am making a sweater, this time for reals.

I figure if I start it sometime soon, I can probably have it done in time to wear in the fall—seeing as I am a.) a notoriously slow knitter and b.) still too enraptured with all things NYC to stay home and knit.

I think I may make The Somewhat Cowl with KnitPicks Elegance yarn—which looks like it’ll only run me about $40. Not bad.

Does this count?

I’m about to make Picovoli which is sort of a sweater.

...

Well, I see it’s described as as “Picovoli t-shirt” on the site, so I pretty much answered my own question.

Planning.

I think I might make the hourglass sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts, with yarn from KnitPicks. My fellow SnB-er is making the same and it’s coming out quite well (and the yarn only cost about $30).

I just finished this:

And it was a bitch to make, but I do like having made something for myself to wear. I’m going to make my husband a scarf for his new coat and then I think I’ll make myself a sweater.

Ideally...

I want to recreate the sweater I was wearing the first time I met my husband: black, cashmere, 3/4 length sleeves, v-neck with an identical v in the back.
