Buy a Prius.

My truck needed so many repairs that I finally had to get rid of it. As luck would have it, the Prius buying frenzy is over and Toyota had 40 of them on the lot. It was easy to get a good deal.

I managed to save up enough money, so I could by a Prius if I wanted to. Now I’m afraid to buy the Prius. The economy tanked. I might need this money for food and mortgage payments. I think I’ll hold onto the Prius stash for a while.

I ended up spending the same amount on gas this year as I did last year. I cut out all unnecessary trips to Anchorage, and when I do go, I plan the errands like a military invasion. No mission creep allowed! No malls, movie theaters, restaurants, or bars. Just food, gas, and go.

Kendall Toyota in Anchorage wants a $1,000 deposit and then there is a six month wait.
