I start my nursing degree course in January 2009 – and I can’t wait! I know it’s not midwifery but the course requirements are strict. Also I decided to opt for a nursing course because there is a lot more scope to develop, and I can still specialise in Midwifery if I want to. Plus if I’d done midwifery and wanted to change part way through my career then I would have to do a conversion course, so in all I am happy with this. I just can’t wait to get started.

I’m desperate to go to uni and train to become a midwife. It’s something I decided on for definate at the beginning of the year and was going to apply for September 2006, but due to health problems I was advised to defect it for a year. But in the meantime I want to get a job on one of the gynae wards at the hospital close to me.
