Let go

I am stressed, because realistically I cannot expect to finish my dissertation this year with my advisor on sabbatical and my mentor gone for good. It’s officially my first writing year, but I already have a chapter (it’s coming out as an article, which is nice). It is important that I try to finish because there might be a job prospect, and I am urged to apply. But do I* even want to apply for that position? I am not sure; part of me wants to. Part of me is just *dying of fear. If I decide not to apply, much of the stress will be removed. I wonder when I swapped my deepest dream for this cardboard feeling I have now.
