after spending a week in Spain, I wonder where all the hours of studying went. my Spanish seems just as poor as when I went to Central America four years ago, before most of my classes. maybe I can understand a bit more, but this is frustrating.

two hours of tutoring. the one on one speaking is so helpful. i can’t imagine studying on my own any more.
spring semester is over in a couple of weeks, then summer session is an intensive two weeks of five hours a day!

i can actually hold a conversation. 20 months ago

nevermind the fact that i can now speak to five year olds and need constant correction. in addition to class (and some studying), i spend 2 hours a week with tutors, just conversing. it is amazing what a difference this makes, and now i am feeling inspired to keep going with this.

on my last quiz. and to think i was going to stop going to class, because i felt so far behind. i guess that’s what a little studying, and my new favorite pals (the tutors! i am the only person that uses them!) will do for ya.

an hour with a tutor 22 months ago

i needed it, just to practice speaking. she was fabulous, patient, and helpful and let me struggle a bit, but gently corrected my mistakes.

spanish final today 2 years ago

i didn’t study as much as i would have liked. i will try this again next semester.

getting lost, losing your ATM card 2 years ago

are both excellent ways to practice a foreign language.

second test 2 years ago

bombed it. my brain was still in hawaii.

first day of class. 2 years ago

I think it’s been 3 years since I’ve worked on this, and I am taking a few steps back. Instead of re-taking second semester of college level/5 unit Spanish, I opted for second semester of conversational Spanish. I just don’t know that I have the energy or the will to be in class 5 hours a week, not to mention the assignments.
did someone say subjunctivo?
