Book three for June 2007

No one belongs here more than you by Miranda July. Such a wonderful collection of quirky short stories.

Two books for June 2007

Beauty tips from Moosejaw by Will Ferguson

Telling of Lies by Timothy Findley

Book one for May 2007

Underground by Haruki Murakami. This is a detailed account of the Tokyo Gas attack that took place in March 1995. Muraki interviewed many of the victims as well as former members of Aum.

Book Five for April 2007

Not wanted on the Voyage by Timothy Findley.

This is an excellent retelling of the Noah’s Ark story, with Noah as a very selfish and unlikeable character.

Book four for April 2007

Conversations with an Eagle by Brenda Cox.

Book Three for April 2007

Pride of Baghdad, a graphic novel written by Brian K. Vaughan with illustrations by Niko Henrichon. It’s based on the true story of a pride of lions escaping the local Baghdad zoo during a bombing raid in 2003.

Book Two for April 2007

King by Tanya Chapman. It’s written by a Canadian author but reads like it takes place in America.

Book one for April 2007

Skylight Confessions by Alice Hoffman.

Book Three for March 2007

The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke. This is a entertaining follow up to her first novel Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. I highly reccomend this even if you haven’t read the first book. These are short stories that take place in the same world as Jonathan Strange.

Book Two for March 2007

Firmin: The Adventures of a Metropolitan Lowlife by Sam Savage. It’s the life story of a very intelligent rat.
