Instead of blurting out unnecessary ‘sorries’ I’m going to try to say “I apologise” if there is actually something I need to apologise for. I think the problem with me is that saying sorry is so automatic for me.
I figure if I actually have done something wrong then I should apologise for it sincerely. If I haven’t, I’m less likely to blurt out “I apologise” than “I’m sorry” for no reason, which is why I’m switching (where reasonable) to “I apologise”.
