it’s been fun while it lasted, but time to clean things up a bit and put things in perspective.

about taking this lovely little girl home. she is 10 years old and looking for her forever home at our local pet shelter. i met her yesterday, and i am in love (i think she is too). now what to name her? i was thinking “Aunt Ruth,” to honor a prior cat named Aunt Sue, and also a favorite aunt of mine who passed away several years ago. or maybe “George,” short for “Georgette” to honor two very special men i have known in my life. i’m taking votes and / or suggestions….

(i need to survive the next two days of heat waves before i bring her home. i work outside, and the heat index today and tomorrow is supposed to be 115, so this adoption is pending only if i live until thursday.)

i recently spoke to a pet psychic, and it was totally amazing to hear what my boys had to say…about me, about each other, about themselves, and about the possibilities of bringing in a third cat.

i am down to two cats right now, but thinking about the third—if i get a good bill of health from the vet, i may add Hazel, who looks just like the Grumpy cat pictured here, only plump.
