"I work best under pressure"

This is literally what I live by. Until I get a good slap in the face (like failing something I did last minute) this goal is going to be so hard to change.

Even now, I’m only taking ONE calc course over my co-op semester. Usually my course load is at least 6 courses a semester. And I can’t manage to keep up with the work because I do things last minute. I guess it’s better than it used to be.. I have a agenda.. weekly to do lists, sometimes daily ones as well. And have general deadlines. But I still procrastinate a ton. :(

Not just school wise though.. Also in extra-curriculars and at my current co-op job! The reason for procrastinating at work and even with my chores at home, I think, is because I HATE when people tell me when to have something finished by and constantly check up on me. I hate when my roommates or parents (when I’m at home home) constantly ask if I’ve completed what they want me to do. At work, there’s two people that come by my desk a few times during the day to see if I’m on task. I realize I’m like this, but I don’t know how to change it :/

My Stepping Stone

I’ve had this goal on my list for a LONG time. and I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been much improvement because I feel like this goal is just so general. I need baby steps in between. One of them is one I started just recently: My Goal Book.
The idea is to write in all major things I want to complete.. any personal goals, academic projects to tackle, etc. I come up with a plan on how to achieve the goal and then follow through by creating a schedule, or a list of things to complete or a progress/reflection report. I’ve found that it’s working so far. I feel like this has contributed to helping me stop procrastinating a little bit because I’m a lot more focused on what needs to be done and how I can get it done. Hopefully I can maintain the goal book and not procrastinate doing that!
