paranoid dreams 7 months ago

I called King’s today – and still no decision. All they said was that I’ll here from them either today (no such luck) or tomorrow (here’s hoping).

So yes, this is getting rather ridiculous, especially seeing as I have to notify UCAS about my final choices by next Tuesday. Argh.

I called them again today and found out that I’ve been unsuccessful – again. Oh well, I guess it’s Queen Mary, and then perhaps the post-grad route for me.

tick tock, the clock is getting louder, ready for me to decide 7 months ago

I still haven’t heard back from King’s yet, which is super annoying especially seeing as we’ve got to make our final decisions by May 5th (?)

I also really need to start sorting out all my student loan stuff – so so stressful >.<

P.s. Medical schools can be so retarded. My friend Sarah got rejected from ALL her university choices – even though she’s a straight A student, and by As I mean all her As are 95 – 100%, she’s done lots of volunteering and work experience ans really wants to become a doctor, if people like her don’t get in, then there’s seriously no point. This is all so disheartening.

I got rejected fro St. Georges Med. School. Gah – and seriously, they’re not even that good. Jesus. Anywho’s I’m still waiting on King’s (let’s pray!!). And if I get rejected there too… well, I guess it’s the post-grad route for me… or maybe I can somehow persuade my parents to let me take a gap year – to grow as a person and all that… Hummm. I doubt it’ll work.

Updates. Updates. Updates! 9 months ago

Ok, this goal is in need of some serious updating!

Well, a while ago I wrote that I’d been rejected from King’s, but then, last Thursday, I got an email from the admissions officer saying that they are now reconsidering me, and would like to offer me an interview. So that was super amazing!

I had the interview today, and I’m not sure exactly how it went, but to be honest, I’m not feeling too confident. I know I let my nerves get the better of me, and spoke too fast, didn’t think before answering and kept um-ing and err-ing, as well as making some stupid mistakes in my anwers… It was quite bad actually :x

Anywho… I’ll find out if I got accepted (doubt it!) in about three weeks – so fingers crossed!

More rejections 11 months ago

I got an email from UCAS today, and I’ve been rejected from both UCL and King’s Y _ Y (& I so wanted to go to UCL). I’ve still got to ear from St. Georges, but I think things will go the same way. Sigh… Well, at least I got into one uni, that’s better than nothing… :(

Another one bites the dust (I think) 11 months ago

I finally got my BMAT scores back today, I did awful:

Sect 1: 4.7
Sect 2: 3.5
Sect 3: 6.0

I don’t think I’ll be getting into UCL med. school now. :z (and that’s not me being a pessimist, it’s me being a realist) Le sigh.

1st Rejection 12 months ago

I got my first rejection today. From Brighton and Sussex med. school. What’s worse is that it was my back-up uni :z So… if they don’t want me it’s unlikely that the Russell group unis I applied to will want me either :< But… I guess time will tell.

On the bright side, I don’t think I would’ve wanted to go there anyway, I very much want to stay in London… I can’t imagine living anywhere else – and for that long as well :x

Heh… also, my dreams of medical school might not be gone yet. If I get rejected to all the med. schools, I’ll still have a place a uni for bio-med. And at the university I got accepted in, there’s a high conversion rate, for bio-medics who do very well in their first year. So if all else fails, I’ve got that to aim for. And if that fails too, and I still want to become a doctor… well, I could always do the 4 year graduate course, I suppose :)

It’s not over yet.

Woohoo!! 12 months ago

I’ve got a conditional offer at my back up uni, Queen Mary for bio-medicine – hooray! Even though it’s not for medicine, I’m happy, because at least I’ll be going to university next year!

Thank God! ^ – ^
I really thought I was going to get rejected from everywhere!
:D

BMAT results 12 months ago

were supposed to come in today. I haven’t got mine yet :z
I wonder how we’re going to get them? Through the post or the exam centre?
I’ll have to ask Ms Nicholls tomorrow.
Although, I don’t really want them anyway…
:x

Le sigh.

~edit
I asked her, and she hasn’t heard anything :s

So.. 13 months ago

I guess I can cross geting into UCL med. school off my list, because I’m pretty sure I failed the BMAT.

The stupid thing was SO hard, seriously. I mean calculators weren’t allowed, which basically made the already impossible maths/physics questions even more impossible. Also, those stupid questions with all the graphs about modes of travel were horrid. As was section 3. ALL the question choices were awful. And, what’s worse is, I ran out of time (!!) mainly because I spent the first 15mins in a panic and trying to figure out which question to do.

So, basically the exam was awful, and I probably scored really, really badly, and it looks like I won’t be getting into UCL. Great.
