...

That awkward moment between birth and death

It's the little things

Back from an evening run (1 hour nonstop baby! :P), freshly showered and smelling of Miss Dior Cherie perfume. I’m wearing comfy pyjamas, listening to excellent music, sipping on green tea, and now I’m going to tackle the rest of my Biochem assignment.
:)

John Green Quote (!)

“Saying ‘I notice you’re a nerd’ is like saying, ‘Hey, I notice that you’d rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you’d rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?’ In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even ‘lame’ is kind of lame. Saying ‘You’re lame’ is like saying ‘You walk with a limp.’ Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he’s done all right for himself.”

goodbye youth,

I can’t believe I’m no longer a teen – it feels so strange ! =/

hail and fairwell

My line manager called me up today, asking if I was free to cover a shift next week, I said yes, it turns out the person who was meant to be covering it, died.
So, I’m covering my dead colleagues shift :( I feel strangely depressed about it. He died of a heart attack on the 29th, and he wasn’t even that old. I feel especially bad for his family (if he has any), ugh, and just 4 days after christmas as well. I don’t know it just makes me sad…
:(

one benefit of the snow:

I didn’t have to go to work today – hurrah! :D

since last time

- Haloween sleepover (cupcakes, pumkin carving, S making us his signature crepes with whipped creama and nutella, scary films and lasagna!)
- Trips to Paris
- Donated blood, which was awesome (blood type = B+)
- Became a qualified First Aider :D
- Ate some bad sushi and got food poisoning (lasted a week, and I lost a bunch of weight)
- Went to see my GP (not related to the food poisoning), ended up being referred to A&E at St Mary’s. I had to stay there for 2 days, fuck my life and my stupid health problems. Gah.

So I basically spent the first half of my reading week being food poisoned, and the second half in unbelievable pain in hospital.

- Fireworks/Bonfire parties, sparkler fun
- Filled in a P46 and finally stopped getting taxed, yay (students don’t have to pay tax)
- Worked more hours, so I’ve been making more money, which is brilliant
- Quit my tutoring job – the kids’ mother was taking the piss
- Bought a beautiful red winter coat that was only £110 – win!
- Remembered just how freezing winter was, and bought some new winter boots so my feet can stop dying on me !

And a bunch of other stuff too… yeah, life has been crazy of late.

Oh and how fcking annoying have all these stupid tube strikes been?! There’s been like 6 of them and every time, I have to work, so I’m always late because I live in west London and work in east. Gah. (there was another one yesterday, hence why I’m still pissed off!)

for the win

oh my gosh, Tom Felton is epic !

randomosity

- Woo, found out there’s going to be a new season of Sherlock – yay, love that show, Benedict Cumberbatch is totally swoon-worthy, and has an epic name lol !
- I dislike the (relatively) new BBC iPlayer :(
- Apparantly Schyler is pronounced Sky-ler – love it!
- This might sound a tad gross but lately, I’ve been taking my coffee with honey rather than sugar, and whao – it’s yummy :D
- Kanye West’s music video for Power is weirddd – and not in a good way =/
- I’ve been back to uni for ~3 weeks now – and wow, things are hectic (need to write a proper entry about this!)
- I also finally started my job last month (about time too, because I got the job way back in April!!)
- I got my first payslip yesterday and I had to pay £14 in taxes – it hurt so much! And next month it’ll be close to £100 because I’m working more hours :( I want to cryyy… !
- The Fresh Prince of Belair theme song has been stuck in my head all day (this is a good thing :))
- The other day I caught Hey Arnold on nicktoons – awesome! :D
- I also watched Mulan and the Lion King again the other day <3
- I went salsa dancing the other day, it was quite good :D

- Some things I want: boater hat, navy blue duffle coat (w/ hood), dream-catcher, jars, barry M nail polish in pastels, a whiteboard, more clothes with peter pan collars, the new Philip Pulman book (The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundral Christ), (more) shoes and clothes – coz you can never have enough, right? Ricci by Nina Ricci, Chloe, Lola by Marc Jacobs and Miss Dior Cherie by Dior perfumes ! (better start saving nowww :P)

- How amazing has the new season of Gossip Girl been so far?! – I love ittt!! Ditto The Good Wife, two of my fave shows at the mo!
- Oh and what the hell?! I watched The Apprentice the other day, and one of the cadidates is(/was) a surgeon (who’s first word was ‘money’ not ‘mummy’ =/) Wft?! What a waste! Ugh made me so angryy, he better give me his degree lol grrr.

- Aaand I cut my hair a few weeks ago, oops it’s now shoulder-blade length – I like it, I needed a change :) :)

Yeah and that’s all I can remember, lately I’ve been soo busy with uni, work, stupid doctor’s appointments, and friends (coz I love them) I have no time for internet – or reading, seriously, I’ve only read one book this month so far, which by my standards, is appalling! =/
