Wow. It appears even the most chaotic person can be tamed by technology. Oh yes. Thanks to having my arm twisted practically off its hinges by the awesome Pocket Universe app, I caved and bought an iPhone.
Funnily enough though, its actually helping me rather than hindering me. I’m actually checking, reading and answering emails ASAP; I’m keeping in contact with family and friends and I’m trying to use it to be more productive with my time.
One thing I really liked was the number of apps that help you keep in tune with what’s going on with your body. I’m pretty absent-minded about that kind of thing, and I really shouldn’t be. For example, on reflection, after external prompting, I realised that I’d been feeling pretty crap for months. I only noticed when I had about 254 litres of blood taken out of me for tests and was advised that I had approximately no vitamin D in my body.
Apparently, this is bad for you.
So, I’ve found an app that let’s me track lots of interesting things and because its on a device that’s always with me, I find that in the couple of days I’ve had it, I do update it. I’m hoping I can make this a consistant part of my life so that next time I’m missing a major element required for life, I may notice before I stop being able to get out of bed. That sounds like a plan. :)
