take at least one photo a day for 30 consecutive days

Well, with the gift of a dSLR this Christmas, I really don’t have an excuse. At any one point in my day I generally have at least 2 cameras on me – the 5MP one in my phone and the 10MP point & shoot camera in my handbag. Since I’m pretty much obsessed with my new camera, that goes most places also!

Since I got the camera I’ve taken photos on 12 consecutive days, and actually have a longer term goal of completing Project 365. It really doesn’t take much time to include at least one photo a day. Hopefully I’ll keep it up!

Unfortunately, my polaroids are packed and have been for years. I do still want to do this though, so I’ve decided to compromise. I have a 2MP camera in my phone and my phone is always with me. So, starting tomorrow I will use that to take at least one photo every day and post it that day to my site. That way I not only have the photos, but they’re off my phone and out into the real world.

I love polaroids. The last time I got to play with one was when I was 4 and my brother let me play with his.

Anyhow, I’ve got 2 polaroid cameras now. One that takes standard 600 size film (you know – the normal polaroid film) and one that takes tiny little pics about an inch tall. Don’t ask me why I need 2, I just do.

People who know me ask me why I wanted a polaroid when I already have digital cameras, a 35mm SLR and an autofocus 35mm. Simple answer, really. Polaroids combine the concept of having an actual hard copy photo with the instant gratification of seeing your image immediately.

I actually find that I have to stop myself from taking too many photos now I have the polaroids. Its brilliant. I do wonder how long this excitement will last though, I so won’t check this one off as done yet.
