so, the library room is coming along well. I’ve finiahed painting it, and we laid the linoleum down.
Now we are building shelves. We got about halfways finished today. It will make so much shelf space!

I am working on clearing out the junk room, and making a library out of it. We’ve ripped out the gross carpet (lots of that in this place, we have gotten rid of most of it now), and putting down linoleum. I have taken all of the junk out, have taken a ton of it out to the car to go to the thrift store, done some patching on the floor, and I’ll do some puttying to fill little holes in the walls tonight. A big project, but I don’t want a junk room anymore.
I painted the hallway today. Not really a different color, slightly lighter, but the same tone of soft green. It looks a lot fresher (there were tons of little chips and marks).
We just replaced the gross brown carpet that was in our porch with nice linoleum.
Our male cat had been marking like crazy on this carpet. We got him fixed, he quit marking, so we replaced the carpet.
It meant putting better plywood for the floor too, since half the reason the previous owners laid carpet was because the floor wasn’t smooth enough for linoleum.
So, lots of work, but it looks great, smells even better!
This is less dramatic than the craftroom, but I have done a bit more painting in the kitchen on one wall where we adjusted the cupboards, and one wall in the dining room that had a hole. I haven’t changed the colors, but I am patching and covering up scuff marks.
So, it doesn’t look different, but fresher and more cared for.
Picked up some inexpensive hanging lamps from Ikea for the livingroom. Very nice, it no longer feels like a dark cave. We also got some drapes that will go in the bedroom that are one of their groovy prints. That should be fun.
I did some painting in the kitchen, and that will look better. The same color, but there were getting to be a lot of marks and such on the walls, so this will brighten things up.
Did a little more work on the door frame of the craft room, too. Got quite a bit done today!
The good news is that my husband started working on the doorframe to my craftroom, the last stage to completion.
The bad news is that he brought home a free refrigerator that doesn’t fit our spot. In order to get the fridge in, he took down a set of cupboards, leaving a mess on the wall that I have to paint, and we may or may not adjust the cupboards and put them back up slightly higher.
So, my kitchen is a shambles for now.
We still have to finish the door frame, but I need my husband for that and he’s a little busy for another week or so. I can move my stuff in, though!!
It’s looking good and ripe for creativity, and even better, the living room looks, well, roomy.
Yay!
sanded and varnished the old baseboards. I thought about new stuff, but it made more sense just to shine up what I had.
