We decided to buy a loft as opposed to a house for this reason. At least once a week we go through and get rid of junk mail, newspapers or anything else that’s accumulated. I feel so much lighter and really appreciate the things I do own since we slimmed down to what’s important to us.

Oh My! 2 years ago

We got rid of soooooooooo much stuff! It was neighborhood clean up day and the city will take away anything you put in front of your house. We still have a ton of stuff to deal with here but hopefully it can all move or be moved or donated from this point forward! The picture is dark (it was a late night).

I was feeling motivated so I went through the house and collected all the random dvd’s and video games that had wandered all over and put them back in the shelves alphabetized. Hopefully I will be able to sit my boyfriend down tonight and we can get rid of the ones that really aren’t worth anything to us. Then we can address all the knick knacks that he’s collected that I’ve started to collect on the floor around there. I also went through my closet and accumulated a whole garbage bag worth of clothing to donate.

So I've been letting it slide... 2 years ago

It is super hard to get rid of clutter when you are in the early stages of getting ready to move into your first house. When we actually start boxing stuff up it should be easy enough to just toss stuff into piles for garage sale, donate, or trash. Right now we are getting tons of small appliances and new stuff like that so I feel like I’m just accumulating more. I’m trying to get rid of four things for every one new thing that follows me home. It’s not really working out so far…
