7) Weddings 3 years ago

Though I had my own wedding five years ago, I had the opportunity to be bridesmaid, for the first time ever, in my cousin’s wedding this past weekend. It may be a cliche girly thing to say, but I love weddings! They are all so beautiful and individual and say so much about the special couple. I have not been to a wedding yet, since my own, that didn’t make me remember my own special day, and make me fall in love with my handsome groom all over again. I am so grateful that my cousin let me share in her day, and I look forward to being bridesmaid again for my best friend in December.

This picture is my sister (at the back) and I in one of the gorgeous vintage cars, just before the ceremony began.

6) Spring 3 years ago

It’s spring on this side of the world and I am loving every minute of it. Everything is in bloom, the fruit and vegies at the markets are so, so, so fresh and good and tasty, the weather is warming up, and we are spending more time outside. But the best part of spring is that it’s “barefoot weather” again. I am loving the feeling of the grass between my toes.

5) Watching my hubby become a dad 3 years ago

There’s something so amazing about watching your spouse change and grow as they take on a new role in life. I am so grateful to be able to watch and be a part of his journey to fatherhood.

4) Cuddles with my baby girl 3 years ago

There’s nothing quite like a cuddle with my sweet, cheeky daughter to make me realise how truly blessed I am.

3) My hands 4 years ago

Might sound a little strange, but I really am grateful for my hands. I was thinking of all the things I wouldn’t be able to do if I didn’t have them – play piano, cook, hug my family, craft projects, type, work in the garden, write letters, read. The list could go on forever.

2) My sling 4 years ago

Purchased through Hug-A-Bub, it’s the best sling/carrier I have found. It is so very comfortable that I really feel I could wear my baby all day. I love being able to have C close to me and look forward to our “hands-free hugs”. And without my sling, I really wouldn’t get anything done around the house.

1) My family 4 years ago

My husband – He is so patient with me as I try to figure out this motherhood thing. He doesn’t mind pitching in and helping with the housework and, despite what he said while I was pregnant, he’s pretty good with a nappy change too. He knows just the right things to say and do to make me smile. I love him to bits.

My daughter – I enjoyed feeling her squirm and wriggle while she was in utero. And now I enjoy watching her explore and discover this big wide world. Her smile lights up her whole face and instantly makes my day better. Although she’s only been here 7½ weeks, I can’t imagine what I ever did without her in my life.

My parents – They live close enough to visit and help out when we need it, yet they know too when we need some space. I am lucky enough to get to have coffee or lunch with my mum about once a week. And I love being close to my dad and being the recipient of his big bear hugs.

My brother & sister – Both still live at home which means I see them often too. My brother is one of the most generous people I know and I really appreciate all the little things he does to let you know he’s thinking of you. My sister is one of my best friends and I love knowing I always have her to talk to
