Just discovered there is an AUSLAN course starting in Jan 2006 at TAFE. The pattern of attendance is part-time in the evenings, which couldn’t be more perfect. Next step, go to the information session and find out cost, hours etc. Then if it’s viable go and enrol early next year. Much excitement!

I’d love to do a course one day. But to start, we want to teach our baby to sign, so I guess we will learn a few of the basics that way.

Eventually I think it would be a great skill to have. I’d love to be able to translate for deaf people at our church. Not that there is any at the moment, but having a translator may be a step in the right direction.
