Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

- The Robots.

41. 42. 43. Storck Merci

There is no better way of expressing heartfelt gratitude than with a gift that speaks for itself: merci Finest Assortment of European Chocolates.

The delicious selection of rich European chocolates made from the finest ingredients available, provide indulgence and variety. With flavors like Cream Truffle, Hazelnut-Almond, Praline-Creme, and Dark Cream, merci will delight the palate.

The idea for merci was born in 1965, when it began to win over people’s hearts as the first individually wrapped gift-giving chocolate in Germany. Nowadays, people in over 70 countries of the world – from Poland to Singapore, from Sweden to Slovenia – give merci as a gift.

I got this as a gift from my husband, and here is a picture of us. Just kidding. I bought it for myself.
41. Hazelnut-Almond: Tastes like Mr. Goodbar
42. Coffee and Cream: Standard too-sweet coffee flavor
43. Dark Mousse: Simple=good.

40. Cadbury English Toffee

Manufactured by Hershey’s in the US which makes it highly suspect and begs the question, would it just be plain toffee in England?

Not bad for a small bite, but when they say soft, they mean liquid, like a caramel. Only this bar tastes much more sickeningly sweet than buttery caramel. And I have a sweet tooth…

39. Crév Truffle Bar Chocolate Fix

Ok, I could not find much about this bar online. It pretty much just tastes like a very good (not so processed) 3 Musketeer Bar.

No complaints here.

38. Milka Chocolate Creme

Milk Chocolate Confection with Chocolate Creme Filling

Treat your sense to a smooth, rich flavor. Delight in Milka – the tender, chocolaty pleasure of Alpine Milk.

I’m wondering if this is new to the US market – I haven’t seen it before. It is really pretty good. The chocolate creme filling makes it taste light and very sweet. I would definitely buy again. Yum.

37. Hershey's Cacao Reserve Dark Chocolate Truffle Crunch

I can’t find a pic or a description, and they were on clearance.

We’re not off to a very good start, are we?

And it’s not a great finish either. Once you get through the excessive packaging, these truffles tasted like they had baking chocolate inside. Yes, it was powdery. I didn’t get it.

I really need to branch out into some different chocolate brands, because now it is just annoying. Looking down the page, I wasn’t that crazy about #s 27-36, and I could use some awesome right about now. Only 6 more opportunities…because you know I’ll never eat chocolate again unless I have the goal, “try 43 more types of chocolate.”

36. Dove Promises Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate - Tiramisu

New DOVE® PROMISES® Desserts Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate – Tiramisu are a delicious blend of buttery smooth caramel, infused with the luscious taste of Tiramisu, and surrounded by DOVE® Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate. Each individually wrapped with a special PROMISES® Message inside.

I like Tiramisu, so I decided to try a tiramisu chocolate again. Now I realize that Tiramisu is often made with liquor, but it’s strange how the chocolate has a liquor taste to it. The flavor is too strong for me. I just don’t really like it.

And I like booze. Go figure.

35. Green and Black's Organic Toffee

Our delectable, organic toffee is made by heating sugar along with butter and molasses to create the perfect flavorful blend. This full, concentrated flavor allows the crunchy toffee pieces to punch their way through our intense 34% cocoa-rich milk chocolate.

This tasted a lot like #34-you know, the one that advertised, “like no other.” Oh wait, that’s right, it had nuts. And probably pesticide.

Good, but VERY sweet. Because the toffee is mixed in the chocolate, it isn’t as crunchy or buttery tasting, which is what I love about toffee. I think I will stick to a Heath bar when it comes to toffee!

34. Dove Peanut Toffee Crunch

New DOVE® Silky Smooth Milk Chocolate – Peanut Toffee Crunch Large Bar pairs perfectly roasted peanuts and buttery-sweet toffee with DOVE® Silky Smooth Milk Chocolate. Thoughtfully placed in 3 individual foil-wrapped bars. An experience like no other.

Like no other? I don’t know.

The toffee adds a nice flavor, but if that’s what you’re in for, you might want a Heath. Still good, but actually quite sweet I thought. I do like the 3 separate bars – makes it a bit more difficult to over-indulge without thinking.

33. Ghirardelli Luxe Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts

This rich and creamy milk chocolate made from the finest cocoa beans is perfectly complemented with all-natural, deep roasted hazelnuts.

Take in the heavenly aroma and let the pleasure of the smooth-melting, velvety chocolate linger.

See 32. Plus hazelnuts, yum.

BTW…am I supposed to be noting the “aroma” of all my chocolate bars? Sorry, I’ve got a cold.

32. Ghirardelli LUXE MILK Chocolate

This divine duet of creamy milk chocolate and rich dark chocolate is made from the finest cocoa beans and purest all natural ingredients.

Take in the heavenly aroma and let the pleasure of the smooth-melting, velvety chocolate linger.

It’s good, but nothing extraordinary. Just a tasty smooth milk chocolate bar.
