My new job is much further away, so this isn’t going to work out for now. If things change, I’ll certainly revisit.

I haven’t done this as much as I wanted to this year, and now the weather’s turning cold and rainy. It even snowed a bit yesterday, and I’m certainly not equipped to ride in the snow. So I’m putting the bike away for this year.
On the good side, my company (which was already just a few miles away) recently moved into new office space that’s even closer to my house, so this shouldn’t be difficult to get back into next year.
I finally found a morning when I could ride to work :) It’s not very far (only about 3 1/2 miles), so it’s not a difficult ride at all, but until this morning I’ve either been running late, or had too much to carry (no way am I riding a bike holding a 4U server case), or needed to go to the datacenter in the middle of the day.
I’m not about to check this off as done. There’s still a long way to go to arrange things so I can ride to work more often. But at least I managed it once :)
Between thunderstorms and frequent trips to the colo, I haven’t had much chance to bike to work yet this year. This is a great disappointment, since I live fairly close to the office and it’s a great way to commute.
I think things are settling down a bit now, though, so while I’ll still be going to the colo from time to time, it won’t be as often. Next week’s weather forecast looks good, too.
I got my tires inflated and my bike ready to go. Then the weather got cold and rainy again. :C
I’m really hoping to get started soon. I biked to work a few times a week last year, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Now that it’s getting a bit warmer, it’s time I took my bike in for the start-of-season tune-up. It’s still a bit too cold to ride, but I’d like to be ready.
Based on last year’s experience, it’s a fairly easy 20 minute ride from home to work. I’m looking forward to doing it again.
