Here’s a look at the fiber content of some common foods. Read nutrition labels to find out exactly how much fiber is in your favorite foods. Recommended fiber intake for women is 21 to 25 grams a day and for men is 30 to 38 grams a day.
Fruits with high fiber content include pears, dried figs, blueberries, apples with skin, strawberries, peaches, and oranges.
It’s a surprise to know that spagetti (whole-wheated) has a high fiber content of 6.3, so are bran flakes and oatmeal. hmm.. But, here is the dilemma, don’t they all have a lot of starches? hmm..
Meanwhile, legumes, nuts, and seeds have the highest fiber contents. A few examples include lentils, black beans, and lima beans. It sounds pretty cool because I like lentil soup. :)
