Advice No 53 2 years ago

This is for the benefit of the male members of 43things.com

Any male who does not need this advice will definately have their life expectancy shortened.

THE HORMONE WARNING:

The Hormone Hostage knows that there are days in the month when all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his life in his own hands!
This is a handy guide that should be as common as a driver’s license in the wallet of every husband, boyfriend, or significant other.

DANGEROUS: What’s for dinner ?

SAFER: Can I help you with dinner ?

SAFEST: Where would you like to go for dinner ?

ULTRA SAFE: Have some chocolate

DANGEROUS: Are you wearing that ?

SAFER: Wow, you look good in brown.

SAFEST: WOW! Look at you!

ULTRA SAFE: Have some chocolate

DANGEROUS: What are you so worked up about ?

SAFER: Could we be overreacting ?

SAFEST: Here’s my paycheck.

ULTRA SAFE: Have some chocolate

DANGEROUS: Should you be eating that ?

SAFER: You know, there are a lot of apples left.

SAFEST: Can I get you a glass of wine with that ?

ULTRA SAFE: Have some chocolate

DANGEROUS: What did you do all day ?

SAFER: I hope you didn’t over-do it today.

SAFEST: I’ve always loved you in that robe!

I feel better now.
Cleaned my place and took the opportunity to throw away – generous.
The funny thing is, it happened in steps:

1) The first time I cleaned up, I did let go of many things.
2) The second time, a few month later, I threw away again. It took a little bit to let go though.
3) But the third time was harder, good I did it.
Looking at the item, thinking: it just takes away space, I don’t use it anymore and will not use in the near future – get rid of it !
Either give it to a friend / charity shop,
sell on ebay or throw away alltogether.

And don’t get new rubbish in the future.
Please see my entry: do you really want it ?

do you really want it ? 2 years ago

I use to ask myself now, everytime I feel a desire to get something:
do you really need it ?
... and 8 out of 10 times my answer is: not really
In fact there are only few things I love.
The rest are just ‘dust-catcher’
