Have a closer walk with Christ

Well, after my gf of 4 years broke up with me, things went down the drain…spiritually, emotionally…everything. She was my accountability partner, my encourager, my very best friend…and, in a life when Christian friends are hard to find, that really made a difference in my life. But, I’ve begun going to the Baptist Campus Ministries and church again…so, it’s all good.

Last Thursday, I visited the Baptist Campus Ministries for the first time on my school’s campus. I’ve been in school (technically, counting some down-time) for 2 years. Why I didn’t visit the BCM (aka: BSU) before now, I don’t know. I think more than anything it was the fear of having to try to make new friends…having to meet new peoples’ expectations…fear, in general. But I’m not letting those things hold be back anymore…and, honestly, it was such a good experience. I’m hoping to make some friends to keep me accountable. They have an awesome worship and great campus pastor, so, yeah, it’s all good! :)

I used to have such a close walk with God in high school…but since college, I find it so hard. I run from Him…I don’t turn to Him when I should. But it’s so hard…I guess mostly because I want to be independent. I need to make some close Christian friends to help hold me up…ever since I’ve been out of the youth group, it has been like 1000 times harder!! I suggest anyone in college struggling to do this…find close Christian friends. It helps so much…but make sure they don’t judge you, rather, they should hold you up and encourage you. I pray that I will find this…because I need it so badly. Please pray for me…
