.... using a stretch for my pectoralis muscles I found in Men’s Health: I put my bent arm on a corner of the wall and stretch lightly. It felt tight, so maybe that’s actually part of my problem.

... the capoeira is helping my posture. I can’t really quantify what makes the difference, because there are so many factors, but I’m definitely noticing a difference.
... exercise I can do; I got it from Core Performance, by Mark Verstegen:
1) Stand with perfect posture, put your weight on one foot.
2) Slowly leaning forward, maintaining your posture, bringing your back leg off the ground as if you were a see-saw. You don’t have to go flat, just as much as you can do.
(My note: Focus on the feeling of lifting the planted leg up, rather than on lifting the floating leg)
3) Hold this position (stretch is in the back of your leg) for about 10-20 counts, then return to standing.
I find that whenever I do this, my posture improves for about a minute afterwards. I have no idea why, but it’s a temporary fix that I find satisfying.
Try it.
...it has a screen that is too dark if you look at it from an off angle. So, I adjust it to line up with a better head position, and that’s helping me out when I sit at this computer, which is quite a bit.
... exercises to strengthen my upper back, recently. We’ll see how well it works.
... sitting upright in my seat while driving. Seems like a good sign that I can do that, but who knows.
... reached the limits of the postural improvements I can get from moving my neck back, and so I need to focus on opening up my shoulders.
... I found myself wanting to do the exercises on my off day. Habit? That’s the idea, I guess.
I doubt this will be any great help, but two cents are better than one, so….
The upright sitting posture that I use was one I developed out of a combination of martial arts practice and paranoia: I sit as if I might need to stand up and walk away at any second. Generally, this results in me sitting towards the front of my chair and resting my feet underneath me.
