I live in Shetland, where the fiddle is one of the main traditional instruments, and many people are very successful musicians playing fiddle – for example Chris Stout, Ally Bain, Jenna Reid, and Steven Spence to name a few. Shetland has also produced a lot of famous composers such as Tom Anderson. There are a lot of fiddle groups, and lots of dance bands which incorporate fiddle. So its inevitable that one day I will have to do this, as its such a sociable thing to play!
