climb mt. fuji

Done!! Holy…had to wait to write an entry cuz my knees didn’t want me to say anything nice about the experience. Definataly one of those things that is way better after it is done.
Overall a kinda trancelike experience! Trudging up the mountain…lack of oxygen….lack of sleep….but no lack of ppl!! Never thought I would climb a mountain in a que. Part of what made it extraordinary though. Truly like a pilgrimage!!

So we are climbing today….tonite to be precise!!! Going to catch a bus from mishima to the fujinomiya 5th staion!! Start climbing around 8pm. It is supposed to take 4-5 hrs that route so I am bringing a mat and a blanket to wait for the sun!!! So excited!!! and a wee bit hesitant!!!

Set the date. My mom will be down, she climbed Kilimanjaro almost 2 years ago and wants to summit Fuji. But she just had her 50th birthday and a week later found out she needs a hip replacement….but being my mom we are still gonna watch a Fuji sunrise!!
Debating if we should start from the bottom or catch the bus and do it halfway!! Then the starting points….I thought there was one in Fujinomiya…any tips?
