I don't like it 19 months ago

I stopped going to Tai Chi. I’ll try Ashtanga Yoga.



Frustrated 19 months ago

I’ve gone to 4 classes so far and am kind of disappointed and frustrated.
The teacher is good at correcting the poses but she doesn’t explain anything and doesn’t allow talking in class. Sometimes, I get completely lost like when she instructs to “focus on your three lalala”(three what? where? how?), “breath and relax your sphynter”, etc.

Also, I know I’m a newbie but I see no benefits as of yet. It is relaxing, yes, but I don’t think it’ll help me correct my posture.

I’m thinking of switching to ashtanga yoga but I’m not sure because I tried hatha yoga and didn’t like the mantra part because I couldn’t “feel it”.



First class 20 months ago

It was more difficult than I thought. I underestimated it because I always associated Tai Chi with old people(sorry!).

The instructor was very good and I hope to improve as the time goes. I wish my schedule allowed me to go more than once a week. I’m going to practice breathing but I can’t remember the movements.



Finally... 20 months ago

signed up for Tai Chi classes. I start on Tuesday.
I told about my expectations and fears (of being bored to death) to the teacher and she said that if it’s too slow and boring for me, to switch to Kung Fu she also teaches.
