the bike has just sat in the garage for almost a year.
No more. Called my insurance agent, called my mechanic, and renewing DMV registration. It will be on the road again soon.
The Hawk will fly again.

is tomorrow! Yippee! Now that the weather has agreed to cooperate…i.e., no more blistering days too hot to wear a helmet and jacket…I’ll be on my way up over Sonora Pass. I’m looking forward to some Fall color at the higher elevations. I’ll take pics and post ‘em soon.
and no traffic. Zero. Nada. None. No cars, no trucks, no other bikes, no cattle, no horses, no coyotes- I had the road completely to myself. God, I love going fast. :)
The mountain passes will be opening soon, too, so I’ll take my annual trip over Sonora Pass.
took the Hawk for a spin through the countryside. Woo hoo! There’s nothing like a ride in the Spring. :)
And pretty soon, I’ll start riding to work instead of driving the truck. That’ll save on gas big time, and be fun, too.
I went to start up the Hawk yesterday, and the battery was too low because it’s been a few weeks since the last time I rode it. I had to jump start my own motorcycle. (blush) Yes, it’s been rainy and/or foggy, but that’s a lousy excuse—even when I lived up in snow country, I managed to ride AT LEAST every 3 weeks.
Anyway…to get a start on this goal, I rode to work this morning. Actually, I had little choice, since the Alfa pulled up lame last week. It was pea soup fog on the ride to work, and the ambient temp was 38 degrees when I left the house. Brrrr. But now the fog has lifted, the temp is in the 60s, and I’ll be ripping it up on the way home.
Life begins at 100. :)
