Show something I love or I’m proud of for this 43Show and Tell

...but right now I need space on the list, so I’m putting this in the “completed” pile.

The Hawk. Or more correctly, a 1989 Honda Hawk GT. V-twin 647cc engine. Single-sided swing arm by ELF racing. In stock form, a capable, fun little machine. One, however, that just cries out for that personal touch.

So, with a shop manual, a few basic tools, and the collective knowledge of some fellow Hawkers I got to work.

Stock bias-ply tires replaced with Avon Azaro radials.
Forks rebuilt with Progressive springs, Race Tech seals, Gold Valve cartidge emulators, custom cut spacers.
Stock exhaust replaced with Hindle Stealth can.
Airbox removed, and stock filter replaced with K&N.
Carburetor rejetted with Factory config 3 jets, resulting in about 30% more horsepower over stock.
Original shock replaced with Progressive internal reservoir, fully adjustable shock.
Custom chain guard.
Smog elements removed.
License plate holder and light removed, and rear fender bobbed.
Stock turn signals removed, replaced with signals from a Buell Lightning.
Saddle foam resculpted.
Stock mirrors replaced with bar end mirrors.
To the naked stock bike, mounted a Spec-II fairing, painted grey granite, and tank and rear cowl painted to match over the stock red.

Hear it roar.
