Abject, utter failure 23 months ago

This past holiday season was remarkable for a couple of things. First, receiving so many cards was the high point of the year. The way they trickled in, a few every day, may have kept me sane. Because second, this was the most depressing holiday on record, for reasons I won’t divulge right now. It hurts to have failed with this goal. But I’m going to tuck it away, hopefully to be revived next year, so it doesn’t drag me back down.

I just want to take a moment to reassure the people who have, for one reason or another, decided they cannot participate by sending cards out.

Please! relax! You are participating by being on the receiving end!

Personally, I can’t send a card to everybody on the list, but I’m thankful for the opportunity to send cards to those with whom I’ve connected. I’m just as happy to send a card as I am to receive one. So, thanks to everyone and Happy Holidays to all!
