be the best Aunt ever

I spoil my precious niece every chance I get. I see her several times a week and we have quality play time! We talk, we cry, and last week, we puked…LOL Well, at least I was able to hold it together!

I will also be being the best daughter. This is one of the last pictures taken of my dad before he passed on November 3. My little Abby will know how hard her grandpa fought to hang on to get to meet his Precious Angel, and how much he loved and cherished her. This little sweetie has been what has kept us all sane during these last two weeks. The same night as this picture was taken (October 30), Dad had a sharp pain in his chest which ended up being a lung collapsing. Once Abby is old enough to understand, I will thank her for being his reason to live. He was so close to being gone at the holidays last year, he was very tired and about to give up. Once he learned my sister was pregnant, it was almost as if he was the man before he became sick. His biggest fear before Abby arrived was how this little dog was going to treat her. Today Abby has a dog (also known as her older sister! LOL) and a guardian angel watching over her.

Abby is the most precious little angel I have ever seen. I have finally become an aunt, as of October 13, at 4:58 PM. She is 6 pounds, 2 ounces and 18 inches long. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. With this little princess as my niece, I have no doubt that I am well on my way to being the best aunt ever!

My sister is having her first baby, she is due in 13 days! I’ve kind of scared her because I told her I would call or email her everyday until the baby is born. It has been a pretty stressful pregnancy for all of us, but within the next month, it will all be worth it! I cannot believe that my baby sister is having a baby! She has been absolutely great through all of this. I am unable to have any of my own, she has problems too, but can afford to go through fertility treatments. Anyways, my sister is going to let me be in the delivery room when the baby comes! This is also the first grandchild for my parents, which is so totally awesome. Our dad’s birthday is 2 days before the baby’s due date, and he was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. It was a very tough battle (which isn’t over yet), but I think the excitement of this baby has helped him. All of the childhood things that our mom gave to me, like books and a rocking chair I got when I was 3 and other stuff, I have decided will be handed down to this first niece or nephew. I can’t believe that we don’t know if it is a girl or boy yet! Well, I should wrap this up! Just know I am extremely excited about becoming a new Auntie!!
