This is my first book by this author and although I’m not hooked on her I could see myself reading something else by her if it comes my way. The ending surprised me, which doesn’t happen to me too often.

This was an interesting peak into the lives of several people involved with protecting a rare illuminated copy of the Talmud.
On a personal level I found out when reading this book that my mother’s maiden name is a Hebrew word and that my grandfather, whose ethnicity was originally unknown was most likely Jewish.
I like the fact that there don’t seem to be any supernatural aspects to this series because it means I can share it with my mother.
I am glad Charlaine has so many series for me to feed my trash reading addiction. This one is deliciously dark and creepy.
I like this one almost as much as I liked the first three books in the series.
