become more spiritual

I don’t think I see the same god everyone else does.
But, I believe that is what makes this goal what it is—something personal.
The search is what helps your spirituality stregthen. I have discovered that through my struggles, the truth I have stumbled upon easily overpowers any doubts. I just need to continue to revise my perception of this spirituality and translate this into religion (read: agnostic? christian? hindu? etc.)
At the same time though, I must distinguish the difference between spirituality and religion. I feel that I have been progressing—my relationship and understanding of myself has improved.

upon listening to a lecture on romanticism in poetry, I have become fascinated by the concept of nature as the divine. The split between nature and imagination, where nature unifies and is simplistic in the discovery of greater meaning (ie: our part in everything around us) and imagination is of the individual’s conception and unique ability. That God is better understood as an abstract principle representing natural law, existence, and the Universe (the sum total of all that is, was, and shall be) than an anthropomorphic entity (reason). I do not feel that this is necessarily the right spiritual path, but I am definitely looking forward to reading and exploring the works of these authors who were often of pagan, pantheistic, and christian influence.

I need to become more comfortable with who I am spiritually and religiously. I tend to avoid the subject because I feel morally conflicted (this itself emphasizes that I need to come a peace with myself). Coming from a Christian family, I have been hesitant to educate myself in other religions and discover my own spirituality. It is hard for me to explain to my support system (parents, etc.) that I cannot faithfully follow that path that I have inherited.
