learn Tarot

My Mom got me a Rider Waite deck 2nd hand from a market. Now I have something to start learning and practising on and later get a deck i really like. I also bought a book from the 2nd hand book store the other day.

I’m not sure what cards to get. I love the Thoth deck (and also the jungian, but they don’t have numbers or titles) but I keep reading that the Thoth isn’t a good deck to start with. Everyone waxes lyrical about starting with the Rider-Waite but I just don’t seem to be that drawn to it..or something..
I also like the Aquarian tarot, my friend mother uses these cards and I’m always seeing the cards lying around the house, so it already seems somewhat visually familiar to me.
But I’m going to shop around a little, there’s alot of decks out there, the Aquarian deck is a good one to start with and I like the pictures.
