very definately a worthy thing to do; it’s easy and in doing it you can help to save a life, plus I now finally know my own blood group (A+) which is, luckily for me, fairly common, but which due to being common they need lots of. The staff at the drive were friendly and kind, knowing it was my “first time” they gave me full one on one attention, to make sure I was comfortable with what was going on. it was painless and quite quick, the only uncomfortable bit was the tourniquet thing they used to find a vein, and that was just the same feeling as having your blood pressure taken.
That said, I’m definately going again as soon as my three months are up! (you have to wait that long between giving)
