I moved in with my boyfriend over the summer and we started making the apartment look good. I made 2 pillows by hand. One is out of mushroom fabric and one’s purple corduroy. They’re pretty cute.

In the summer I took up the straps of a pretty dress that I was too short for, by hand. I was proud of myself. It looked great and it’s my favorite dress now. I can’t wait till I can wear it again. I also fixed a hole in my work uniform.
I want to make myself a wallet next, but I have a hard time getting started- knowing how to put things together, make linings, etc.
I started making Shaina an arm wallet for Christmas. I made it out of fake (obviously!) leopard fur and the lining from an old pair or army green pants. It looks cute but the materials were so thick it kept throwing the tension off the sewing machine, I think. The wallet part is finished now but I still need to sew the band and attach it by hand.
For Christmas I sewed my boyfriend curtains. They’re just panel curtains, and my mom helped because I had no idea what to measure or that I need to iron them, but they came out looking good. I also sewed little pillows which I filled with rice and essential oil. I hand-sewed and used a sewing machine. The hand-sewing was something I just jumped into and I did better than I thought but one thing that throws me is what to do when you run out of thread and need a new piece.
I would love to be able to have clothes that fit me perfectly. I always see really interesting materials at fabric stores and stuff, but I wouldn’t know where to start with it. I would also like to be able to alter my existing clothing to fit me better.
