There are some really gorgeous ones of the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall that are worth checking out!

I will be moving to China (Beijing, specifically) as early as January 2007 until late 2008… so there will be plenty more photos where those came from, especially when the Olympics roll around!

I went to China in the summer of 2005, knowing only a few choice words from watching Tom & Jerry in Mandarin. My boyfriend is Chinese, was born in China and moved to the States when he was 6, and from experience I know that it’s millions of times easier to get around when you have someone with you who can speak at least some of the language.
However, it’s an amazing trip. My twelve hours on the plane couldn’t be over fast enough, I was literally gushing with excitement. We traveled to Beijing, Jinan, Mutianyu on the Great Wall and Taishan. I ate from the “fire pots.” I walked on the Great Wall, I even called my mom from the Great Wall. I threw coins down a tiny hole in the top of the tallest bell in China, possibly in the world. I climbed (part of) a mountain frequented by Confucius. I went in a cave with thousands of Buddhas on Qianfoshan (Thousand-Buddha Mountain).
I came back a completely new person; I’ll never be the same.
