I went and saw my pediatrician and she prescribed minocyclene and a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash. First, I exfoliate with dermalogica’s “skin prep scrub”—awesome stuff! Next I use the BP wash, and then follow up with dermalogica’s “toner” and then “active moist” moisturizer. It’s been almost three months, but all I have left is ugly scarring and a few little bumps. My mom is an esthetician, and she brought me home some hyperpigmentation solution from her salon and it’s working wonders (:. It’s almost gone! I am hoping I won’t go on a product binge like I did last summer, (probably why my face broke out so bad.) I’m soo close that I’m scared I might be tempted, but I’ll just have to stick with it!!
I also dropped a few bad habits. I don’t drink much soda anymore, and I also stopped smoking weed. Both things were unhealthy and unnecessary. The soda made me feel bloated and gross and the weed made me feel awkward and incredibly self-conscious. I honestly don’t know if both actually qualify as harmful to your skin, but I dropped both at about the same time and I saw a dramatic improvement. They say that the outside of your body reflects the inside, and most highly problematic acne is caused by allergic reactions to things you would never expect – dairy, wheat, acids. I am a strong believer in this, and once I dropped my unhealthy lifestyle, I started to look and feel healthier. If you haven’t already, maybe check into having an allergy test done?
PS – If you haven’t tried Dermalogica yet, I highly suggest it! It’s a line of products that are safe when used in conjunction with one another, and their secret is a mix of very natural, very good-for-your-skin ingredients. All of their products are amazing! There are certain products someone with acne would want to avoid, (for very dry / aging skin) but there are just as many you want to use, as well. I suggest the anti-bac foaming wash and either the skin prep scrub or daily microfoliant, and then toner and one of their many moisturizers. Also, if you’re someone with a light case of acne or just a few pimples, try the dermal clay cleanser! It’s a quick-fix for problem zits, it works miracles :)
Hope some of this can help you (:
