star gaze

we went and watched the perseids, and I’ve been making progress, but I really wany to get my text book and online books read, before I put some serious effort into regularly setting up the telescope.

I finally finished reading through the entire audubon book. I’m also making good progress on my textbook.

I’m so glad the the somewhat cloudiness last night did not prevent me from watching the eclipse, or from checking out saturn’s rings, right next door.

got a telescope for christmas as a joint gift between me and my husband. Spent christmas eve looking a the moon, and trying to focus on mars. This is going to take some practice.

and read some more of the textbook too.

spent about an hour around 3am sunday morning watching meteors streak through the sky.

It was well past my bedtime, considering I have to be up by 6:30 for work, but we did go out and watch the perseid meteor shower for a bit. It was quit nice. There were several that left behind sparkly white trails, that remained in the sky for a moment after the meteor had faded away. Very Disney. Very pretty. : )

After getting home from work, I laid outside on the concrete driveway until it was to dark to read, then I laid and watched the stars come out until it was time for bed.

A meteor shower and a total lunar eclispe should make this month interesting.
