Bikram Yoga, continued... 21 months ago

Okay, now – I’m just at the beginning of Month 3 of joining the Bikram studio where I’ve been going a minimum of 3 times a week and max of 5 times a week! WOW – it’s been SO amazing, I can’t wait to see where I’m at in another few months. I keep having to adjust my belt to a smaller fit, clothes are fitting like they should, my skin looks great, my muscles are firming and I can really see a change in muscle tone.

I am really happy with this new studio and am so thankful to the owner, Douglas, for being so amazing and such a positive force and influence on me and so many other people. I got one of my good friends, Betsy, to come and she did the intro package as well with me, well, now she has joined as well and it’s so great to at least see her there when we’re both so busy we hardly see each other like we used to. I love it. I’ll never stop. It’s SO good and although I pulled a hip flexor about one month ago and had to take about 3 days off I think everything is good again.

It seems everyone’s body has SOME adjustments to make and I think this is just one that had to happen at some point in time from going so often.

I got Robert to do the intro package with me as well and his month is almost over. :o( It’s been nice to share my practice with him and for him to see what I’ve been so dedicated to over the last x-amount of years. I know I used to be an occasional hot yoga student but not any more – I am a lifer and will hope to make it at LEAST 3 times a week. I also learned that I burn way more calories than I thought doing it. The site I was using before didn’t specify bikram yoga or regular yoga and I found that I burn over 1,000 calories for EACH session! DANG! :o)

Anyway, just thought I would spread “the word” of Bikram.

Namaste.

I <3 Bikram Yoga!! 23 months ago

Some changes were recently made at my gym which caused me to re-think why I keep going there. I decided to check out the Bikram’s Yoga College of India that is near my neighborhood. They have an intro package for only $29 and it’s UNLIMITED yoga for one full month!! I’m on week 2 and a half and have been going almost EVERY day and I feel SOO good! I’m losing pounds/inches and just feel wonderful!

I think everyone should try it – it’s amazing at what new things you learn about yourself, etc. It really opens up your eyes as to how you can improve, what areas of your body are weaker than others and so on. I’ve also been reading Bikram Yoga, the book by Bikram Choudhury. It’s been great as I’m moving along in my practice. I’m learning on what key benefits there are to each pose and how to improve my postures.

I’m in love! :o)

Hot yoga ROCKS! 2 years ago

I just learned that for each 90-minute session I’m burning approximately 800 calories! WOW! I’ve been going at least 3 times a week for the last few months or so and I’ve been sticking to this even when my yoga friend, Alisha, flakes on me. I used to go by myself and although it’s nice to have a friend go with me I need to keep up my good habits and keep on going! :)

I love hot yoga. It’s awesome. Strengthening muscles, sweating, it’s all good and it makes me feel phenomenal. It’s also nice that my gym has added more classes to the schedule as well. I’m going again this afternoon at 4:00 PM – can’t remember if it’s only an hour today or 90 minutes but it doesn’t matter – it’s all good. Gotta keep this one up – 800 calories a session? Crazy!! :)

Day one: 3 years ago

So now that I am finally feeling well enough (emotionally, mentally, physically) to go to the gym, I went to yoga last night and I feel amazing! The hardest part is getting started, right? Anyhow, I am going to continue on this one. This is very important to me and will also keep me distracted.
