I bought one of those chin-up bars that you put in your doorframe. At first I thought this was a great idea. I could finally start to work on another one of my longtime stagnant goals!
Now I just have to find the time to install it. I just found a place for it too. It will be right as you walk into my room. I’ll have to wipe the cobwebs free first up there.
I’ll have to get a little stool to step on too. Yay! I’m taking the first stepd for this goal!

You know how action heros are always hanging on the edge of a cliff or building and they have to climb up? If I ever found myself in that position I would most certainly fall to my death because I can’t do a pull up yet.
Once I can do at least one then I can work on doing more.. but I can’t remember the last time I was able to do an actual pull-up.
Oh, and I read http://www.ehow.com/how_3192_pull-.html and was right about the “negative” exercise. I need to find more tips though. Last summer I went to a gym and tried ten times every session. At the rock gym I attempt it five or six times.
There is a bar in the park nearby where I live, so I could always go there. sigh part of the problem I think is that I am so tall. I have to bend my knees and it throws my balance off.

There is a chin-up bar at the rock gym. I tried lowering myself slowly a couple times. It feels like I read to do that somewhere. My forearms were already exhausted though.
Are your palms supposed to face in or out? I had them in, but I’m not sure if that is right.
