read every book I own

I’m using the lists site associated with 43 things to keep track of this one now. I have 47 books on my shelf, and I keep buying more. Half Price Books just had a warehouse sale, so 16 more on my shelf. Time to get reading and pause on the buying. Sometimes, I just can’t help myself; I think it’s the possibility of a new book that is so intriguing.

So, I haven’t really kept up the LIST, so to speak. Instead, a bunch of gals from work and I started a book club. We’ve met for about a year now. We’ve met just about every month. I’ve read books I never would have read on my own and really liked them. Right now, we’re reading The Kid, by Dan Savage. We meet next week! Last time, we read Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, which I loved!

I have 37 books on my list and have read four already: DaVinci Code, The Secret Life of Bees, I Know This Much is True and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I’m on The Red Tent now. So far all are kind of fluffy, so I’m easing my way in. I have several on the list I’ve only just heard of, some I’ve been meaning to read for a long time, some recommended by friends or family and a few I feel like I should read (we’ll see if I ever get to those). I’ve given all four or five stars so far. I’m glad I’m reading again.
