left to pay: $24,142.18 (Gulp!) We’ll get there.
I have to stop and reflect on what my Uncle Howie always says:
“The steady peck breaks the stone”
Once I pay off the car, that’s going to be HUGE in giving us more financial freedom. That number is still large, but it’s going down at a good rate that makes me feel like this is going to happen within the next year. Then I can start paying more on this loan. With any luck, we’ll then sell our other property (once the market picks back up—but I’ll settle for having good tenants that PAY ON TIME to keep the property in good shape so we can whittle away at the mortgage and eventually ‘flip’ the house for a profit some day). But, I am rambling.

I scheduled my September payment ahead. Our current balance is: $24,233.82
Daunting, yes, but we’re not going to worry about it!

Personal Loan

Well, I made my first payment, it’s a drop in the bucket, but at least I’m able to accomplish other things right now that will help out in the long run.
In fact, I am waiting for my $1000 car payment to be reflected on my account so I can record the new payoff. I am excited to see that start going down quicker.

Well, thanks to the larger and more recent personal loan, I was able to pay off our smaller one. The payments have been coming out of my paycheck, so now my pay will be larger. :) No sense in having two personal loans to be paying on either. I also made my first ‘aggressive’ car payment of $1000. It’s still going to take a while to pay the car off, but nice to have the leverage needed to make significant payments. I’d like to have it paid off by next tax return season!
Also, with the remainder of this personal loan, we are slowly and deliberately making smart moves that will help us in the long run. (Ex. Fixing that dang dripping faucet, adding energy saving window treatments, installing foam insulators behind outer wall outlets, etc.) I am hoping that by taking our time to think things through for a change, we can really get a ton of bang for our bucks!

Well, I found out that the loan payoff for my smaller loan is: $4,235.49 if I pay by 6/9. I might just do it, and that’s one less thing to worry about.
Then we have repayment starting for this larger loan, so this goal isn’t going to disappear anytime soon.

I think that even though this loan has a smaller interest rate on it, in the interest of consolidation, I will pay it off soon with my other personal loan. That way, I free up more of my pay toward repaying the new one.
Oh, why can’t we all be financially secure? Especially those of us that work so hard to make ends meet.

I have around $4000 remaining on it… might just pay it off with the other one I am getting (fingers crossed here!) so I can focus my energy on paying off the car (and then the new loan). It’ll be nice to have debts consolidated and a slight cushion in our account! I just hope it goes through without a hitch. And it would be nice if we got the really low interest rate too!
