still working on it- sigh… got a lot done tonight. I hope I can keep the momentum going. I set a timer and work for at least that long. I try to increase the time by at least a minute each time. I hope this helps. It’s very tedious, but will be SO nice to have DONE!!!!!

I think the washing and drying is FINALLY under control (almost entirely done, in fact!) and the putting away part is under control.
Now I just have to sort out mine, and Drew’s and get rid of some, pack some away, etc.
I am determined!
I need to re-think this, and figure out how this can be achieved… it has been on my list for a LONG time now, and I truly HAVE tried. What can I do differently?
Well, for one- I think I HAVE to do at least some work on this every day without fail. No matter how busy I get, this needs to be part of my day until this goal is met. (Then it’s just maintenance after that.)
Also, I think this is one area where one of my favorite addages fits: ‘Unnecessary possesions are unnecessary burdens.’ Basically, I think I need to get rid of a ton of clothes. I love clothes, but if I’m not wearing all of them- they’re just clutter. Part of revamping my wardrobe should be reducing my clothing and thinking about QUALITY vs. quantity. I’m going to make this goal my next one to really concentrate on. The others are added bonuses, of course, but this one will get at least 75% of my focus until I can finally check it off.
I did more last night (not a ton, but enough to stay on target). Will do more tonight…
Sometimes when I feel like I’m staring at the same list of goals week after week, I do something like this to give myself a push—I go through each goal and type out a ‘next step’ and an estimated deadline. Here goes!
Next step: wash/dry loads while I sort, and try on and put away
Deadline: October 1st
I didn’t do quite as much of this as I had intended, but still put a dent in this task (husband did quite a bit, too). If I keep this pace up it’ll be done in the near future. (really!)
I have another box of clothing to donate. I’m getting better at deciding what I’ll actually wear (and feel good in). Once I’m done weeding, I’d like to assess my wardrobe and see what I’m lacking and go shopping with an actual ‘list’ in mind. As silly as this sounds- watching What Not to Wear has helped a lot.
I went through my closet pulling things I don’t wear because they are too small, too big, out of style, stained, etc. and put them in their proper piles. Now I need to do this with everything that’s not hanging in my closet. I brought my winter clothes downstairs (finally!), too.
I also washed another load. I need to swap them out tonight.
and put some away, chose two items to get rid of, and boxed up winter stuff. Still plenty to do, but I’m getting closer.
there’s just a few loads to wash, and some old clothes for me to go through. I also need to organize my boy’s clothes.
BUT, tons have been washed and put away, and hubby took a whole box to a secondhand shop today (which benefits the Humane Society), so that’s a lot of progress.
This goal has been one of the longest and sometimes frustrating goals… but we made huge progress today. We put away all the laundry that was in baskets in our room, and cleaned our room a LOT. It’s nice to have a clean room. I want it to stay clean. We have more clothes to wash, and our son’s to organize, and I have TONS of clothes to sort through and decide what to keep, what to put away, etc. BUT, the end is now in sight.
