Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

What did I learn last week? That not everything is as it seems
What was my greatest accomplishment over the past week? Gave a spanish presentation!
Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why? Stepped on the scale and went down!!
What’s the #1 thing I need to accomplish this week? Write ANOTHER 3 page Spanish paper.
What can I do right now to make the week less stressful? Do as much as I can TONIGHT!
What have I struggled with in the past that might also affect the upcoming week? Doing absolutely nothing on the weekends. I need to make my weekend productive or do something enjoyable versus doing nothing.
What was last week’s biggest time sink? Not going outside for 2 days… Missed a lot of sunlight.
Am I carrying any excess baggage into the week that can be dropped? Yep, plenty of it.
What have I been avoiding that needs to get done? Clean my CLOSET!
What opportunities are still on the table? Take the GMAT for grad school.
Is there anyone I’ve been meaning to talk to? Vanessa
Is there anyone that deserves a big ‘Thank You’? My mom!
How can I help someone else this coming week? Work more at keeping the apartment clean by doing dishes every time I’m done. I know it’d mean a lot to my new roommate.
What are my top 3 goals for the next 3 years? 1) Lose Weight 2) Read the Bible 3) Graduate university
Have any of my recent actions moved me closer to my goals? 1) I weighed myself Friday and went down! So I’m going in the right direction! 2) Honestly… nothing as of recently. 3) On 3rd week of summer classes.
What’s the next step for each goal? 1) Get ontop of exercising more. Try to do 3 days this week. 2) Just take 15 minutes a day and read. 3) Decide what classes I”m taking for fall.
What am I looking forward to during the upcoming week? Getting finished with my Spanish paper!
What are my fears? Too many to count sometimes
What am I most grateful for? My family and friends!

Rearranging my room!!

Meeting a few random people! They seem really cool and one of them lives in my building! Maybe the start of a new friendship?*

Write my opinion paper for Spanish Class.

Keep God my primary focus.

My mind being consumed by someone… and that has been taking up way too much of my time.

Nope

Yes… I have a lot on my mind that I need to just let go! Constantly thinking about someone is really getting me nowhere…

Cleaning/organizing my closet!

Making A’s in both of my summer classes.

My doing my part and more in the partner presentation in my spanish class.

I have been cooking and exercising everyday and also writing down what I’ve been eating.
Taking classes to get done!
Taking conversation spanish and trying to read spanish often.

To continue and never give up no matter how hard it might be.
Register for graduation and plan out my senior year classes.
Find a latino friend to help me practice speaking my spanish.

Fireworks on the beach!

Not being good enough…

So very excited to be starting this goal!

1. What did I learn last week?
That no matter what you are going through, someone else is going through the same thing.
2. What was my greatest accomplishment over the past week?
Laying down everything that has been weighing on my heart and giving it to God.
3. Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why?
Sitting in front of my window during a tornado watch we had when the weather was getting really rough. For 30 seconds, the wind started spinning the rain around and I almost thought a tornado was going to appear. It was exciting and scary at the same time! I’ll always laugh about it because of course being in front of a window IS the safest place to be during a tornado watch! I’m just a daredevil I suppose :)
4. What do I regret from last week and what can I do about it learn from it?
I regret not giving my final part of my day to God. I was always doing something else, watching tv… talking to friends… (not saying those things are bad).. but I need to give my final evenings to God and spend time in his presence. I can always tell a different when I wake up in the morning.
5. What’s the #1 thing I need to accomplish this week?
Completing all my homework to the best of my ability as well as studying for my macroeconomics test coming up Wednesday!
6. What is the most stressful thing in my life right now?
Trying to balance schoolwork as well as being available for friends here at the college as well as being able to have me time.
7 . How can I go about improving it?
Have lunch with them or spend time with them in the library while studying together. Early mornings and late evenings can be good opportunities to have some “me time.”
8. What have I been avoiding that needs to get done?
Preparing for the last few weeks of school by studying, taking notes, and making study guides!
9. What opportunities are still on the table?
Spending time to study now!
10. What am I forgetting?
Studying for the GMAT and asking my teacher when I need to take it and how I go about signing up for it.
11. Is there anyone I’ve been meaning to talk to?
I have really been meaning to get back in touch with Vanessa. I haven’t talked to her in 6 months. I really need to see how she is doing.
12. How can I help someone else this coming week?
By cleaning the bathroom and washing the rugs. This would mean a lot to my roommate :)
13. What treat will I promise myself this week?
Go out to eat somewhere special with my family when I visit them this weekend! Maybe chinese :)
14. What are my top 3 goals for the next 3 months?
1) Cooking more and learning new recipes!2) Working on exercising more3) Practicing my guitar more! And hopefully complete the goal play an instrument 30 minutes a day for every 30 days goal!
15. Have any of my recent actions moved me closer to my goals?
Yes! My cooking and exercising more have led me to lose 30 pounds! So exciting!
16. What’s the next step for each goal?
1) Make a list of recipes I want to try.2) Push myself to go to the gym, no matter what.3) Make a 30 day plan of what I want to practice on guitar and what I hope to accomplish.
17. What am I looking forward to during the upcoming week?
Going home and seeing my family, friends, and church!
18. What are my fears?
Falling back into the feelings I had for a particular person. I am just trying to focus more on God and make God the most important thing in my life.

The people God has placed in my life and that God has me here, at Wilmington, for a purpose!
20. What can I do to make life more beautiful?
