following passions vs. running from "life"

i definitely want to live passionately…but how to determine the guidelines of following passions and living life in the face of real responsibilities, being accountable, staying in one place for more than a year, etc? not all passionate living opportunities demand that kind of choice, of course, but i know a good handful of people that use the idea of living passionately as a reason for denying a different kind of passion…
i don’t know – anyone wonder the same thing?
