I was in Houston last weekend for my sister’s graduation but I didn’t even bother looking at the Astros schedule because I assumed we’d be busy the whole time. Luckily, my dad had the same idea and realized that we’d be free Saturday night, and the Astros were coming back from a road trip. Though a lot of family members were interested, in the end it was just my dad and I that went. We bought tickets outside (for LESS than the ticket price!) and sat on the 1st base side, dugout seats, about 20 rows back. The brats were delicious and the beer was okay. Apparently they sell Shiner beer elsewhere in the stadium, but we didn’t go on a quest to find it.
Fun park, good game, and friendly people. It’s always strange for me to go to a ballpark where you can get seats easily, because Fenway is nothing like that.

I’m seeing the Red Sox when they go to Camden Yards in August. This is going to be awesome for many reasons:
-new ballpark
-seeing friends in DC
-visiting Baltimore for the first time since I was 16
-can’t get Sox tickets at home anyway
I was also thinking it’d be cool to see all the minor league Sox teams this summer. McCoy, where the Paw Sox play, is practically in my back yard. I have a good friend in Portland, where the Sea Dogs play, and it’s only a 3 hour drive. Then there’s a single A team in Lowell. It wouldn’t help me with this goal per se, since I worded it as major league parks, but it would be fun.

I met a woman who was moving from the west coast to the east coast, and she and her husband were planning their roadtrip around going to baseball stadiums. I thought that was awesome. I’ve only been to a few places so far, but I want to go to them all.
Where I’ve been..
Fenway Park (many times)
Safeco Field (twice)
Olympic Stadium (I’m not taking it off the list, even if Les Expos no longer exist)
Yankee Stadium (twice)
My boyfriend and I talk a lot about taking a vacation to see the Red Sox, but except for a trip up to Seattle when we both lived in Portland, we haven’t done it yet.
