make my own jewelry

as corny as i feel admitting this, i just sent away to join the beaded jewelry kit of the month club. it comes with instructions and complete set of beads, wire etc to make one project each month. i figure i will learn the different techniques this way while creating gifts for christmas and bdays :)

i made my friend a necklace as a gift and gave it to her this morning as a gift, but forgot to take a pic! i will see if i can borrow it for a minute to take a pic with the camera phone

so nothing fancy, but here are my bracelet and necklace!

made another necklace last night. was inspired when i saw my sister making necklaces for her bellydancing crew. lightbulb! lol it’ svery simple but gotta start somewhere, right?

now i just need to find the time!

who i haven’t seen in ages was asking me yesterday to send her some pics of jewelry i’ve made and how much im charging… also wants to see the other stuff i make (once i get rolling!) she’s rad. :)

a necklace for my bf last night. i think it came out pretty nice… i’ll have to take a pic to post!

some more beads, and some clay last night. also some string, wire, ribbon, etc! i’m excited :) have some ideas for chokers (a personal addiction of mine ;)

a.c. moore’s last night for some ideas and a few supplies. picked up a few cool iron-ons and t-shirts, plus some beads and bead-making supplies. however, when i asked the girl who worked there for help finding epoxy or resin or whatever stuff they make beads with, she looked at me as if i had 5 heads and ran off to ask for help. and then that lady laughed at me and said they ‘arent that crazy’ and i’d have to look elsewhere. i did manage to find on clearance a small kit to make one set of jewelry from polymer clay somewhere in the back of the store and a few bead-rolling tools, so i picked up as much clearance stuff as i could and went on my way. they were closing the store so i will have to go back soon when there is more time, but for now i have a few things to get me on my way! :)

or to give as gifts… or even to sell! i am also looking into making other things i can make and sell, such as clothing for animals, etc. going to the craft store tonight to get some ideas :) i’d like to make this into a side business, ultimately, if i can get good enough at it :)
